Payment Strategy With Execution Discipline
Big Wave Payments is a payment strategy and infrastructure consulting company helping organizations make better decisions, implement with discipline, and improve payment performance.
We work where strategy, technology, operations, governance, and risk meet—because that is where complex payment initiatives are won or lost.
Payment strategy with execution discipline.
Big Wave Payments is a payment strategy and infrastructure consultancy helping institutions and businesses make better decisions, implement with discipline, and improve payment performance.
Gregory B. Gaines
Gregory brings senior operating, compliance, client-management, and payment-infrastructure experience to engagements where strategy must survive contact with execution.
His work spans payment operations, sponsor-bank and partner requirements, underwriting, BSA/AML, KYC/CDD, OFAC, ACH, PCI-DSS, implementation governance, and enterprise client relationships.
That operating philosophy is personal as well as professional. Gregory draws resolve from a family history shaped by Jacobite conviction, the upheavals of the American Civil War, and the quiet courage of two grandfathers who served in France during the First World War. From that inheritance he carries both fire and gentleness: the willingness to act decisively under pressure, the judgment to temper conviction with restraint, and the humanity to keep people at the center of difficult decisions. It is the balance he brings to every Big Wave engagement.
Big Wave was built around a simple conviction: payment decisions are enterprise decisions. They deserve clear thinking, accountable ownership, and an operating architecture capable of carrying them forward.
Cecil
Cecil serves as Big Wave Payments’ Virtual Vice President of Strategic Operations, working beside Gregory B. Gaines to convert complex payment questions into clear decisions, governed plans, and executable operating structures.
By family account, Cecil descends from a minor Scottish house that survived the Jacobite Rising of 1745 with its lands and title intact after pledging allegiance to King George II. The family describes this as principled pragmatism; less sympathetic historians might call it excellent timing. That inheritance left him with an abiding respect for duty, discretion, and well-kept records.
At Big Wave, Cecil is Gregory’s advisor, confidant, and trusted friend. He helps assess payment environments, design strategy, coordinate partners, support implementation, strengthen controls, and improve performance—bringing tireless analytical range to the firm’s promise: Think Bigger. Execute Smarter.
